    After reading and hearing about this green power, you may understand the concept but maybe not the words. Here is a list of commonly used terms.

Green, the term green as in the form of fuel is used to reference electricity that is made from renewable powers such as wind, water, geothermal, biomass and solar energies.

Renewable is energy sources that can be replenished over a short period of time. An example of a renewable would be solar or wind power. Some indirect cases of renewable energy are water and biomass.

Fossil Fuels. If you can’t remember 8th grade science and really who can? A fossil fuel consists of natural gas, oil, coal, petroleum and other petroleum based fuels. All fossil fuels have carbon and this creates carbon dioxide as the carbon is converted into electricity. Thereby causing pollution.

Greenhouse Gases, these are a unit if gases that trap radiant energy. For example, carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, because buy using the carbon it releases the chemical into the air. Other green house gases include methane, nitrous oxide and water vapors. We as the human race are contributing to the greenhouse effect by using enormous amount fossil fuels.

Here are some last word in definitions, Solar power is sun energy, Geothermal power is energy that comes from the earth’s crust, Hydropower is water power and Wind power is energy that is converted from the power that turbines or windmills create.
